[Author News] Newspapers, Nostalgia, and Novel Updates 🗞️

Hi friends!

I’m learning how to self-publish a book, one slightly bewildered step at a time. Imprints. ISBNs. Trying not to spiral about how to launch and market it all.

But then I remembered something important:

When my sister and I were kids, we had a pretend newspaper which printed editions of “Kitty’s Kingdom” in marker and crayon. (I still stand by that editorial direction.)

So when it came time to create a real imprint for my very real, almost-ready book… I went back to where the storytelling started. I named the imprint Makenwak Books, after our childhood paper.

And now? I’ve created an official fictional newspaper of the world of my novel! These magical dispatches will introduce characters, hint at mysteries, and let you follow along as launch day approaches. Here’s the first edition!

Also, here’s a peek at the cover art design.

What’s Next

I need to write the dreaded book blurb for the back of my book!

Thank you for sticking with me during these behind-the-scenes months. I can’t wait to show you more from The Vanishing Castle.

Thanks for reading!
